The yellow peril

I use to work in this building. It looks sort of nice from the outside, despite all its yellowness. However looks can be deceptive.

It has a LOT of glass, which meant it was freezing in winter, and like a greenhouse in summer. Neither the heating or air conditioning seemed to be able to cope.
The balcony was not something a load of computer nerds took to, and I'm not sure any other occupants since have seen it as an asset.

However the glass had another issue. It seemed that despite having blinds to hide the inside, it was just too tempting for some nefarious individuals to back a van up to the windows, apply judicious use of a sledge hammer and take what they could.

We had increased security patrols, police alarms and all sorts, but still I'd be fetched out of bed occasionally at 2am to literally pick up the pieces. One time I even patrolled the just burgled building with a truncheon wielding officer looking to see if anyone was left behind.

Anyway - all in all its good to move on from the yellow peril!
