Boulder Moss
As Thoreau wrote: "In wildness is the preservation of the world."
What we need to remember today, in our predominantly urban societies, is that the city does not exist to the exclusion of the wild.
Wildness exists in the bugs and the birds, the grasses and mosses, the rain and the wind and, perhaps, even in the people.
On a city campus, the rocks and bricks are slowly colonised and softened. Regreening continues apace. So long as nobody scrapes it away.
