Not just a plain old tree

On I-5 between Marysville and Mount Vernon in Washington state, there's a few rest stops. But one of them has a particular attraction. An old, (a very old), burnt out Western red Cedar that has been moved here as a relic from a bygone era. It's in such bad shape, that the iron work to keep it erect cannot be hidden. There's the requisite information board that gives the trees' history from about 1839. (it was a monster in those days).
Apparently, the King and Queen of Norway drove through the base of it in 1939
(I slept much more soundly that night just knowing that)

Ah well. Until tomorrow....
