In-between the seconds

I am still playing with skulls. Its not as morbid as it sounds. This is a young female puma skull, she has lizard-like scales on her head instead of fur and inscriptions on the inside of her skull.

This one is made out of clay and wax. The pigment is local earth (from Sancerre, famous for its wine and just 6 miles from me.) This earth is wonderful, it is already quite red, full of iron. Each year when they cut back the vines, then they burn the branches and then sprinkle the ashes back around the vines. I have collected small quantities from different vines, each vine has a different colour.
