Prince Albert

On 10th February 1840, Queen Victoria married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha. Albert died in 1861. This bronze statue by Carlo Marochetti was unveiled by Victoria herself in October 1863. Originally situated on Union Street (where the King Edward VII statue is now), this one is now located at the other end of Union Terrace and commands a fine view over Union Terrace Gardens and some of Aberdeen's finest Victorian architecture

If Queen Victoria was here to see the brutal plans that the City and their property developer pals have for this area, I'd like to think she'd say "we are not amused".
