Mynah Bird

I did my first panorama today. I was extremely pleased with it and thought it would make a great blip. But then I thought of a problem. On my 13" laptop screen and viewing the image full screen, the height of it is maybe 2" at the most. If I'd loaded it on here that would probably be halved again. It would be like looking out onto a beautiful vista whilst stuck in a post box. Nobody wants that.

So we come to my actual blip. These birds are everywhere here. They're quite large, very noisy and almost impossible to take a photo of. It's like they're trained to be suspicious of cameras. This one foolishly landed about 20 feet away whilst I was catching some rays on the beach and luckily for once I had our camera ready with the telephoto lens already attached. So I zapped him. Mwah ha ha.

Seeing as I'm blipping it, I thought I better do a little research. Every day is a school day after all. So what we're looking at here is Mynah (or Myna) Bird. Part of the starling family. They originate from india but are very common in Mauritius and I presume throughout the indian ocean. And my own little fact: They have cool hair dos.
