A Wee Bit of Frost
A very mild winter this year. So far, at least. I have known us to have summer weather in January, completely tricking the trees into blooming, then harsh weather in Feb, Mar., April, freezing and confusing the trees...not to mention the humans!
The combination of a light frost and a sunlit morning just gets my heart off on the right track in the morning. It has been a good day!
It was an honor to sit next to my mom this evening as she stepped up to volunteer for our youth program Wednesday night as group secretary. I filled in for Paul who was busy helping my uncle, and mom filled in for the regular fellow who had the littlest children, and there we sat, side by side, checking children in as they arrived, and being a part of the same energized activity. It is, to me, the most natural thing on earth. My parents were entrepreneurs and I grew up in an environment of people working side by side to accomplish the same goals. To me, it is the highest form of recreation. Seldom are we able to recruit family and friends to work together on the same tasks. So here I sat, at the height of my joy, getting to work along side my mother again. For some ladies, cooking or sewing together is a joy. For me, doing business together is the very best!
