Watch this space...............

this migt look like any old green stalk but ........ I overwinter my ginger plant, bird of paradise etc in my dining room and tonight I thought what is that shoot and can you believe this will be a bird of paradise flower - I'm so excited as I have had this plant longer than I care to remember - I bought it when it was tiny (coz it was cheap!) and my mother said it will be years until it flowers of course she was right but what a stupid plant flowering in my dining room rather than outside - hopefully a bloom will follow in the not so distant future :)
