Barbed Wire

Another strange old day and not much to blip ... so, whilst pondering on the meaning of life, I did wonder why the fields had barbed wire around the perimeter ... as there are no animals and the ends of the fields are open to anyone to pass through. Does seem a little over the top and expensive ... eh?
