Glacier Pers
This morning I skied with Andreas' group on the Glacier Pers; the photo by Jean is of us skinning up. The snow was pretty good all things considered, but it's almost done now. Andreas offered me the privilege of laying down first tracks on one pitch (i.e. doing the guide's job) and to be presented with a blank canvas, rather than following someone else's tracks, is a wonderful sensation. Mmm, more of that please.
In the afternoon I skied with the family Watson and their friend Dr. Laura, and we had great fun doing the funky little jumps and gullies in between pistes. Wayne's youngest took the 'splat du jour' (and possibly the 'splat du saison') award with an impressive uncontrolled jump into a twisting fall followed by a 50 meter slide down a steep slope. She's 5 so took it pretty well, with only a few tears.
