Victim of out of town shopping

This used to be our local off licence (liqor store). Great place if you had unexpected visitors. It looks very cheerful but it is really a very sad place as it was forced to close some time ago. We used to have lots of little local shops right in our street. Over the years they have nearly all shut down due to competition from the massive hyper markets built on the edge of town. You need a car to get there, you queue forever to pay, the packaging is such that you always buy too much of everything and end up throwing half of it away. I liked our local shops. You used to meet your neighbours and the people working there used to know you. Oh well...
