Water Tower

This tower on the moor road from West Linton to Penicuik used to house a transit instrument which was part of the water supply from the Talla Reservoir to Edinburgh. It was build at the turn of the 20th Century and the instrument is no longer there although the water supply still comes this way. It's slowly falling into a ruin due to wind and weather, and looks suitable bleak on a rainy day like today.
