Rupert Bear

This lovely sign is at the entrance to the Artists farm at
the village of Rillington outside Malton

She is a lady called Susan Maud, who after I had spoken with
her, told me that she is a Big Rupert Fan and had dedicated
this picture to Alfred Bestall who was the illustrator for the
Daily Express, from 1935 until his death in 1986, he had
taken over from the original creator of Rupert, a lady
called Mary Toutel.
