Beside Lake Wanaka

A very wet drive after a sunny start. We stopped at Wanaka for coffee at Cafe Gusto before heading off over the Haast Pass for Franz Josef Glacier village where we stayed tonight. We were very lucky to get through because the day before had seen the road closed and as we drove across there was much evidence of rockfalls, road washouts and fallen debris on the road. It must have been quite some storm!
