One of the good things about getting back from work is getting back control over your own diet.
Onboard ship, while the food can often be very good, there are a number of boats where I've subsisted on coleslaw sandwiches for four weeks. Unfortunately there's the odd cook, such as the legendary (mythical?) 'Deep Fry Dave', who believes that a meal isn't a meal until it tastes only of salt or has been drowned in the deep fat fryer. Offshore food also tends to be pretty meat heavy, and while I'm partial to the weekly steak, it's nice to see vegetables that go further than variations on potato...
