Too sunny?

I can't quite believe that I am about to say this but today was almost a little too sunny! Let me justify myself, it was fabulous to see the sun and so lovely to feel warm walking around in Chichester (even though I am still wearing 4 layers! ha ha ha) however I think that I have found a downside, I went to the Bishops Gardens to try and take some photos of the Cathedral from the otherside (just for a bit of variety!!) however when I have just looked at my photos they are way too bright to do much with!! So instead of the usual B&Ws or sepias that I generally prefer I have decided to use a coloured shot - Any advice for combating the sun vs too bright issue would be greatly appreciated!

Other than that a fairly dull day to be honest!
