Spye Park
This is Spye Arch, I had to do some research to try to find out more about the area. It sounds as though it has been through the wars in its history.
This was thought to have been the entrance to Stanley Abbey. When that Abbey was demolished the archway was re-erected as an entrance to Sir Edward Bayntun's {1480-1544} mansion - Bromham House. The arch and gatehouse escaped destruction during the civil war {1645} and now stands at the Bowden Hill entrance to Spye Park.
The above information was taken from Geograph
I went out lateish this afternoon to try to find something interesting to photograph and came across this, thought the gate rather imposing.
