~Carmegiea gigantea~
~Saguaro Cactus In Stone Canyon~
I took a walk today in one of my favorite places, Stone Canyon. It is located at the Southern end of the Tortolita Mountain Range. I haven't visited there since late 2009. I've missed my hikes in this place as the population of these giant Saguaros numbers in the several thousands. Also the rock formations here are almost other worldly, compared to the real world. This particular giant is probably 30 to 35 feet tall and close to a couple of hundred years old.
I've missed doing things like this lately. Things like hiking, motorcycle trips, photography and of course participating in The Blip experience. I think that part of reason for not being involved in my "normal" pursuits over the last year is due to starting my fine art photograph business, BikerJim Photography. I'm sorry to say that the concerns of business life took all the fun out of BikeJim. So I'm gladly letting that side of my life go, at least for the time being. The business may have been a big mistake for me to undertake. It's not that I wasn't selling photographs, I was. But that's not why I want to make images and the commercialism got in the way of my creativity. It was a tough choice to make, as swallowing ones pride for the pursuit of happiness is not an easy decision to make. But hubris takes a backseat to joy, and with joy comes creativity and contentment.
You know what? It was an easy decision to make after all ;o)
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend,
I'll see you next time, ok?
