Bouncing

Trying the Nikon flash mounted on the Lumix this morning .......seems to have worked.

I am glad to say the Snow didn't last - but I suspect there will be lots of ice tomorrow.

This eveing at the camera club we has a super speaker - Simon Crofts.
He is a profesional photographer who does weddings to ballet but trained as a commercial lawyer who worked in Russia and the Eastern Bloc. Much of his work is still done in Eastern Europe and his social documentary stuff is amazing.
But not only was he showing us his work he was explaining how art influenced him (and us even though we may not be aware of it).

Degas is one of Simons favourite painters and he had a habit of cutting heads, hands and feet off his subjects and placing poles in front of them - so at the end of the night I thought I would take a Degas picture

It was great hearing so many of the members of the club saying how much they enjoyed the talk and for such a wide variety of reasons ........ not that many of the entrenched committee heard as none of them were there. Call me cynical, but could it be because Simon was suggested by a couple of the 'Revolutionaries' who are trying to bring in changes to the club and meeting lots of resistance.

Long live the revolution
