My First Camera

Thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and retrieve my first ever camera from the loft. My dad bought me this camera almost 20 years ago when I took the GCSE photography option at Matravers School.

This Pentax K1000 came with a 28-80 zoom lens. I then went on to get an 80-200 zoom and a x2 tele converter.

I shot mainly with black and white film (FP4, HP5) which I developed and printed from myself - I would love to get back in the darkroom, but just don't think I could find the time anymore.

I decided to it would be quite appropriate to present this shot in black and white with a sepia tone to make it appear like an old photograph; I achieved this with the 'Old Photos..' filter in Gimp.
