Ghost Bike

I had another blip in mind today and then I drove past this ghost bike and decided this memorial needed to be documented. It is unfortunate, but every year bicyclists die in collisions with motor vehicles. These bikes are placed near the site of the accident and maintained by individuals. Ghost bikes are not unique to Portland. Ghostbikes.org is dedicated to this international movement.

Portland is considered one of the most bike friendly cities in the US, but that does not mean we are without our tragedies. Education, education, education, that is the key for motorists and cyclists as well.
