Not a great day for me today. Yesterday I decided to move all my images from the hard drive to external drives as my MacBook was starting to crash as there was so little space left.

I bought two new 1TB external drives and decided to use the first for my photography files and the other as a backup drive. Well the move went fine but as soon as I started the backup the first drive failed. It seems that I have lost 160GB of photos.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that something can be done to retrieve the files, but I have a bad feeling about this. I'm also going to go order a Drobo system as I don't plan on this happening again.

Update: I got everything back. Unbelievable but the drive was able to mount on an XP system, and then the shop I bought it at replaced the mounting connector and the drive mounted on my Mac. I have backed it up immediately.
