Morgan's Hill (view from)
First Saturday of the month and for the first time for over a year the warden of Morgan's Hill reconvened his trusty supporters for a look over the wildlife reserve. Ill health had prevented the warden from walking the lumpy, bumpy hill and it was good to see him again.
Not the best of days weatherwise but the main task was testing out the proposed new butterfly transect, which is a route walked to observe and record numbers and species of butterfly. It took two hours to walk and I wished I'd had a smartphone with an app to record the length and profile of the walk 'cos we must have ascended the hill three times over.
This is by the entrance to the reserve and one of my favourite places in Wiltshire.
