A pump re visited

This picture shows the villagers showing off their new pump to the visitors from Ireland, with Venture Malawi. This is also the location for the January picture in our Calendar.

Yesterday we went to Lusangazi with John McManus, and today we went to Sonda with the all the Venture Malawi guys, and they were surprised to see the great work that we are doing with the villagers! They couldn't believe what has been achieved with compost (manure) alone.
We went to see the well in Mphaka and were all very happy with the pump in comparison to the unprotected water hole which the villagers were using before we installed the Canzee pump.

If I remember correctly this pump gives clean drinking water to 150 people at a cost of less than one euro each!
