Pet names and habits of speaking*
Did he just call her 'my petal'? As in flower petal? She is very pretty but doesn't look that delicate. They're picking up Mac and Cheese from Panera and I'm waiting for soup and sandwich because I refused to cook again this evening. Mac and Cheese, that's not the kind of thing a flower petal eats. Flower petals eat salad.
I love pet names. Some more than others. When I love someone, large or small so much I could explode, I call them Schmoopy (from Seinfeld) or Schminky (made-up) Hopefully I don't irritate anyone with that.
Speaking of irritating, someone pointed out in the forums how grating it is to hear the phrase "you know" after each sentence. Since then I hear it everywhere. I even ran into someone over New Years that not only says "you know" after each sentence, but "you know what I mean?" Super duper duper grating but since they're a schmoopy, I can forgive them that.
Mr. M and I were laughing at how shockingly often we do the same thing-he even more than I. Tomorrow we'll pool all our one dollar bills and divide it up equally. Every time he says it, he'll give me a dollar bill and visa versa. Whoever ends up with all the bills, wins and keeps it. I will be victorious.
*some silly chat about nought-all that happened here today, thankfully
