Memorial

This is a memorial to members of our Defence Forces who have died on active service. I cannot help but feel that its design is characteristic of our society:

1. It is located many meters away from the entrance to Government Buildings: Those who send our soldiers and Gardai to do their duty should be constantly reminded of the price paid by those doing that duty.

2. The bronze statues of our soldiers, sailors and air men are hidden within the structure you see here: Out of sight, out of mind.

Bit of a rant, but I am proud to see this monument on one of our main thoroughfares.
