Haines

Another slow day, snail's pace for most things around the house, several things not getting done, productivity not the highest, motivation on the lacklustre side.

Great weather though for stopping in and listening to some stuff from The Auteurs. Luke Haines is probably someone who absolutely revels in these current meteorological conditions, I can just visualise him now staring out the window for hours, scribbling lyrics and sneering disdainfully at people out there on the other side of the glass, concentrating intently on the further mental ploughing of his bile-filled furrow.

The debut album New Wave is pretty much deserving of 'classic' status but I'm going for something off the under-rated follow-up Now I'm A Cowboy. I'm going for this one

And, I cannot recommend highly enough this bitter, acerbic and downright misanthropic book on the mans' part in the whole Brit Pop scene. Outstanding.
