No Signals and Smoke Signals

Another stroke of governmental master class! A full communications wipe out (and by full I mean the internet and mobile phones ? apparently land lines are a forgotten mode of communication!). Possibly a move to thwart ?Angry Friday,? where many locals had promised to spill out of the mosques around noon and further voice their disgust at the way their country is being run. Who knows?

Question: if these plans were already in motion, how exactly was pulling the plug on mobile phones and the internet going to change anything? The cogs were oiled in the build up! None of the locals needed the ability to use these means of technology in order to carry out their actions. They would be gathering in numbers , as normal, for payer after all. Close the mosques possibly? Open a select few and police them efficiently? Of course not. That would take effort and forethought!

The latest we have just heard from our neighbour is that there is now a capital wide curfew between the hours of 6pm this evening and 7am tomorrow. And how exactly are the masses to hear about this without the means to communicate? All we?ve seen today are smoke signals from downtown. Simply nuts!!!
