~Cloudlessness~
~Uncomplicated Twilight~
Is cloudlessness even a word?
If not it should be, this evening!
I road the motorcycle, Old No.9, up the road a ways this evening to catch the sunset. And that's about all I caught, not a cloud in the crystal clear blue sky. Just the Tortalitas in silhouette and the color gradient in the cold blue yonder. But it was a delight to watch the oranges, reds and blues fade to black. It got cold too, I guess that's why it was so clear.
One tends to notice things like the temperature when out riding in the late afternoon in the winter. Unfortunately, as soon as the sun went down it wasn't afternoon anymore, it was night! Riding back home after dark, well, can be a challenge when it get into the low thirties. When riding in the winter I always dress the part, leathers, heavy gloves, bandana, thermal socks and heavy boots, etc. But still things like no windshield, no face shield, and oh yes, a little thing called windchill factor come into play. So I figure that for the better part of my 25 mile trip home I was experiencing at least a zero degree windchill. Took a very hot and very long shower went I got home.
Back in the old days I also would have downed a good portion of a half-pint of Jack Daniels. But those days are far behind me now, so a hot spaghetti and meat sauce dinner did the trick of warming my innards.
Was it all worth while to get this image?
You know what, I think it was and then some!
Thanks for dropping in to visit with ol' BikerJim!
And stay warm on the way home my friend.
