Lake Sammamish Reflection
Some early morning errands paid off today as I drove along East Lake Sammamish Road into Redmond. Clear skies with no wind are a rare treat here and the mirror-like surface of the lake was irresistable.
Luckily, I had scoped out a few turn-outs while shooting a blip here last month, so I was able to quickly pull over and take a quick series of shots for a panorama. I simply balanced the camera on a fence post, kept the shoreline level and centered, and pivoted the camera between shots - overlapping each about 25%.
The key was shooting in Manual exposure with a static white balance setting (not AWB) to maintain consistent color and exposure throughout the series.
Afterwards, I simply stitched them together using the Panorama tool under the Create menu in Windows Live Photo Gallery.
UPDATE: By request of fellow Blipper Panoartist (high praise, indeed); here is a larger version on Flickr.
