almost there

Today is Candlemas Day. This ancient festival marks the midway point between the shortest day and the spring equinox.

The snowdrops and early signs of spring flowers in the woods today give the impression that we are almost there.

Out of the darkness and ready to feel free again.

The lovely little woodland people made dens, dragged big sticks around and helped each other in and out of a very special fallen tree trunk. They shared food, lapped up hot chocolate and felt the warmth of the fire. They were carefree, careful and kind to one another.

They're feeling the freedom already.
