On your guard
I have to be in the mornings, in case we get an 'incident' that means we are late leaving for school. Forgotten urgent homeworks, lost or difficult shoes, refusal to wear a coat. Everything seems to be at the last minute, no matter how carefully I think I've prepared the night before.
Some tough stuff for pupils, as I went over mock exams with them. It's difficult to wrench the calculator from their hands as they work out averages, and "if you'd given me a mark for this, that and the other...", rather than just learn from their mistakes. I guess that's hard for anyone to do.
I was a little later leaving work, as I could make it to the after school meeting for once. ph had given me a little tip after his lovely shot yesterday, so I snuck behind the gate to the old military lookout. What a bliptastic place. It's a huge, rambling, scattered fortress, with deep and overgrown fortifications and hundreds of sentry huts amongst the trees. This one had a fine view. Not a bad place to be on duty.
I knew that there would be some trouble about the red kidney bean content of the chilli I made for tea. I have to get my own way sometimes though. They'd better watch out, they might never know if I've stuck a pulse or two in their tea. Keep your fingers on it! ..... Attention!
