Happy Birthday Liese.

We went out for a friend's birthday to a very, very nice huge hot pot restaurant. Not a little one like this but it was just as good and really fun.

We were told by our Chinese friend that it's good luck here in China to smell your cake before you cut into it.

Hmmmm, maybe it's not good luck to smell the cake because this is what our Chinese friend, Harry, did to the birthday boy, Liese (pronounced LeeZee), when he finally said he'd sniff his cake. Luckily Harry also got a face-full of icing too.

We never did end up eating any cake but we sure had a lot of fun and laughs. By the end of it several other people had icing-faces on them too.
