Scotland the Brave

In Scotland it seems we always want to discuss the weather. Mostly to moan about how bad it is. No wonder, today we had freezing cold, blue skies with brilliant sun, rain, hail and then thunderous rain laden clouds which darkened the sky, followed by more blue skies and sun. This shot took all of a few minutes to take, at which point I ran back to the car, about turned and was facing the blue skies and sun all the way home.

I was drawn to this shot because the sky was copying the rich dark blue colour of this train station - one I didn't even know existed. The lines of the building are wonderful and the white concrete with the sun catching it made me think of the Scottish Saltire. I also like the splash of red on the sign emulated in the light inside the top of the building.

I was out on a trip to the DIY mega warehouse. For a girl who likes her shiny power tools, this is better than a dash through a designer dress shop when money is no object. Always the cheap date. Who knew they now sell rope in varying widths and colours, its looked like a haberdashery. I stroked the tools, several of which found their way into my trolley and some of which I had the sense to put back, this time.

I left with a big shiny incinerator bin, complete with funnelled lid. I can't wait to play with fire this weekend - but which of my relatives would be pleased to know that's what I spent my Christmas money on?
