The Power Cut

Slightly unexpected turn to the evening when the power went out at 4pm. No worries I thought - I'll go get a rip-roaring coal fire on the go. That was the first mistake. The only warm room in the house quickly became a very smokey room! So we all moved into the candle lit, cold kitchen for an hour, then got the camping stove in to make a cup of tea and heat up Amelie's baby food in our finest billycan.

Then, two hours in, just as I was getting use to the idea of being "forced" to go buy a take-away curry, on it all comes. Oh well. Maybe next time......
