Broken china
A hard frost this morning and bitterly cold with no sunshine. I thought I had better do some long delayed chores at home and decided to start cleaning out the larder thowing away vastly out-of-date packets and bottles, or rather recycling the contents, packets and bottles!! I am the world's worst when it comes to housework! I think I must have been a hamster in another life.
Today's blip comes from the pile of stones and objects I pick up mostly from the fields on the farm. I love collecting the broken pieces of china which are predominantly blue and white and think of the picnics in the hayfields or at harvest when so many people were employed on the farm at that time. The era when most of the jobs were done by hand or with basic machinery and horse power. The traditional Willow Pattern plates were the most popular. It would be interesting to look up in an old illustrated china catalogue to identify the other patterns.
Oh and I won a very small Premium Bond today - one lives in hope!!
