Reprieve

Today was hot. Really hot. It was 36 degrees C and we foolishly lived up to our promise to take the kids to the circus. Inside the big top it must have been into the forties. And the circus was bad. Really bad.

We got home and everyone was tired and scratchy because of the heat. We still couldn't get away from it. But then as the evening wore on it cooled down and we got our reprieve from the heat. We sat out on the deck and watched the beautiful twilight and all was good with the world again.
