Green shoots

Went up to the allotment this morning and did a fair amount of tidying (although not much in proportion to what needs doing). There was a perishing cold wind. One of the few signs of life apart from the primrose (at least I cleared away that bramble) was the first shoots of the globe artichokes.

The only thing to eat, though, apart from a few pathetic pigeon-pecked cabbages, were yet more of the Jerusalem Artichokes. Hmm. Think I'll have to take some to the office....
