We travelled to up North to our friends wedding which was held at Lumley Castle

a truly magnificent location for a fairytale wedding. It was a wonderful day and the start of a new beginning for the happy couple.

It was just about a 3 hour journey for us but was certainly well worth it. We drove straight to the castle to have a sneaky champagne with the bride and chief bridesmaid whilst they were getting ready then headed to our hotel to get ready ourselves. Before we knew it time was gone and it was 3pm and time for the wedding.

The service was lovely, the bridesmaid read a Pam Ayres poem

Yes, I'll Marry You, My Dear

and as Roger is in the Navy, his friends came in uniform and the newly married couple exited the room under a guard of honour.

The reception was held in the dungeon which sounds strange but it was lovely, the disco area had all fairy lights in and drinks were flowing well into the night.

I hope the couple will have a long and happy life together.
