Misty street

An early morning blip for a change - quickly snapped on the way in having got a taxi back from The Grads excellent Burns Supper last night. Hosted by W she somehow managed to seat twenty of us in her dining room. Once seated there was no moving until the end of the meal! A recorded piper to pipe in the haggis, a rousing address and then some excellent traditional fare. Followed by a short but spot-on Immortal Memory talking about the fun of Burns, the Toasts, to and from the Lasses, full of up-to-the-minute banter between the sexes and, the highlight of the evening, a brilliant performance of Tam o' Shanter from JK. His performance, all from memory, with actions and numerous changes of pace and accent, was spell-binding. I've been to quite a few Burns Suppers over the years but think this was easily the best Tam o' Shanter I've seen. The evening was rounded off with a few more 'turns' and even a bit of group singing.
This morning started off watching Andy Murray's demise in the tennis, and should probably involve a bit of washing up (see yesterday's blip)!
