Mt. Soledad
This is the war memorial in La Jolla, California. There is a controversy whether the cross should stay to go. I say leave it alone, it is part of the memorial. We went with some folks from our photo group. I have chosen to do a series of landmarks with flora foregrounds, when applicable.

Strange side note: This am I went out back to feed the cats and there was a large amount of blood by the back door. I didn't see the cats and thought they had got into a fight with a local possum that has been hanging out. But I noticed that the droplets had spatter. As if the drops came from a few feet up, as in a human. It kind of concerned me. It made a circle on the concrete, to the wall and to the back by our shed. There where no hand or footprints though. I called the non-emergency number of the Sheriff and there was an officer here in a matter of a few minutes. She looked around and agreed that it was more of a human than of an animal. And mentioned that the amount of blood by the door indicated that he/she stood at the back door for a bit. There was quite a bit of blood all around the yard, but more so by the door. She didn't know of anything going on around but she would look in the alley. It was strange. It is still a mystery. Just to think we could have looked out our door and been face to face with a bloody person, sounds like a horror movie.
Kind of makes you want to speculate about the goings on prior to entering our yard.
Well allrighty then....
