Put the bottle down, carefully

Stayed with #2 Brother and his wife over Christmas 2010.

Visited a neighbour's house on Christmas Eve for drinks. Perhaps I had had one too many because as I swayed gently in the middle of the living room, I could have sworn that the image of the three receding corridors in this painting altered slightly.

Closer examination revealed the more prosaic truth that the painting had been created on a three-, not two-, dimensional canvas.

It was reassuring to find a rational explanation for these shifts in reality that didn't rely on extreme intoxication.

And even more reassuringly, the little pink elephants had also put the penguins down and left the room already.
