FAIRBURN INGS
A trip to Fairburn Ings near Castleford today. Can't go tomorrow, we'll be watching tennis. Saw a Long-eared Owl, but only managed a very grainy photograp; White-fronted Geese, Redpoll, Willow Tit, beautifully vivid Bullfinches, and loads of chirpy Tree Sparrows. But the winner had to be this Robin who flew over to where I was standing, perched at face level and just stared at me and posed. Somehow, though without a tripod, the picture really seems in focus. I am pleased. Thank you Robin.
In large the feather detail has amazed me.
