Bad dogs...Worse owners!

Today began peacefully, calm, the sort of day the Dailama would encourage you to have. After a leasurly late breakfast the two doggies and I set off for a nice quiet relaxing forrest walk!
Bearing in mind that Sam our wee black patterdale likes to have the odd scrap with other dogs irrespective of size, I always try to find forrest trails that bear no signs or hint of dog (signs usually other cars with dog bars or muddy seats)

Today just 10 minutes from the house I found a nice new forrest track and there were no parked cars so off we went merrily up the track. We stopped at the above red muddy puddle for the obligatoy plunge! you can see by the colour of the water what state that pair were going to be in when they emerged. Anyhows off we jolly well trotted then after an hour decided to turn and head back for the car.

This is always the time when I have to be on red alert! sure enough I spied a wee white dug about 400 yards down the track, I quickly grabbed Sam whose nose had gone into doggy scent overdrive! snapped his lead on and on Abbie as she sometimes copies him, chucked my camera in my rucksack and carried on.
Lo and behold there was not 1 dog,nor 2, nor 3 but 4 dogs who had also by now smelt dogs and they came battering up. The first two were the biggest collies I had ever seen (and being a Hebridean I have seen my fair share of collies) but these two were BIG, they were followed by and even BIGGER Bull mastiff and hot on their heels was the fiend from Hell a wee tiny wire haired Jack Russel.
My two were frantic when they saw them, mercifully the two big collies passed us by! but the slobbering mastiff came right up to me! and was eyeing up my thigh, I thought if you bite me pal Im toast. Not to be out done the terrior from Hell was trying to grab Sam by the throat.
Needlsess to say I was literally having to fight off these two hounds of the Baskervilles. Yet a further 200 yards back down were the two owners both women.
One of them shouted at the wretched snappers but she never made any attempt to hurry up to them and lead them up. the other woman said nothing (I am assumig she owned the collies who were just watching this melee)

Finally she got the terrior back and she grabbed him then proceeded to walk towards me. I thought well she will likley apologise for the behaviour of her two dugs! WRONG! neither woman was even going to give me eye contact so I stopped and said her dogs were a bit lively (undestatement of the year!) ~She just looked at me and marched on!

Small wonder her bloddy rabbid dogs were they way they were!
You should also have seen the state of my breeks covered in rusty mud, twigs and big dog slobber.
Bad dogs...worse owners

Have a more peacefull blip Saturday all
