Secret of Area 49

What goes on behind the closed doors of 49?
What are the strange tanks and pipes on the roof?
Why is it blue?
Why am I crouching down to take the picture through the weeds when if I stood up I'd be able to see clearly?
Why did I come out at lunchtime to take this piccy when I could have sat at my desk in area 49 and had my lunch-break!
