One more day of work, then off to Malibu for a week! I'm really looking forward to some R&R in warm weather.

Oooh - woke up sounding like a heavy smoker with a frog in her throat, and Jer took care of me. Made a doctor's appointment, drove me there, and got me a coffee and treat while he was waiting. I think he just felt bad that he may have gotten me sick, but I think it's that he's just really sweet. Turns out I got what he got - a lousy sinus infection.

With only one more day at home, I tried to clean the fridge out, hence the hash for dinner. I used a potato, sweet potato, chard, sweet peppers, savoy cabbage, broccoli, garlic, lemon zest and served it over leftover basamati rice. It was actually quite tasty. Got rid of a lot of produce and it's not going to waste like our produce sometimes does.

I've been reading "The Dirty Life" by Kristin Kimball - a book about farming and she often describes cooking with only what they have accessible to them and they rarely go to the grocery store. So I've been inspired to maximize what I have in the fridge.

Okay. Cough syrup with codeine is starting to kick innnnnnnnnn......
