Painting the Town Blue
This painter was making short work of painting the screen the sort of colour it would have been good to have had the sky today.
No matter, his Lordship and I made another sortie to the Land of Flowers, there to enjoy a cup of tea without any cake sullying our plates.
It's hardly the same lingering over a solitary cuppa when all around are feasting on anything from a full English breakfast to various mouth watering cakes.
I've never been someone who is thirsty enough to want to drink a cup of tea on its own. I like to spice things up with a little something on the calorie front.
But his Lordship has decreed that he is too cuddly ( did I just write that?) after the cruise and would like to become the smaller man he was before, and that my extra avoirdupois is solely the cause of my foot ailment (forget the heavy load bearing of the flit), and so we should and will cut down on the nice things in life and only eat small and sparingly. Certainly there have to be no snacks of anything enjoyable.
What a terrible thing it is to spend the later part of life denying yourself the pleasure of a little unhealthy eating, especially as there was a report in a newspaper earlier in the week, that being overweight is not the killer it's been made out to be, although according to his Lordship it's certainly the cause of a pain in the foot.
I am starving.
