{26/365} a beautiful mess
"Hello ma'am this is Dozer, reporting for clean up of the book pile."
Today is the last day of my husband's paternity leave. This means the level of cleanliness in our household is about to take a nose dive because we have one of those unusual relationships wherein he does FAR more cleaning than I do. Truly, he sees it more than I do. I see ... a beautiful mess?
(This happened to also be a prompt for a class I've been taking called Picture Winter with Tracey Clark -- the class isn't at all technical but is overflowing with inspiration has fostered a lovely community, not so unlike this here Blip community.)
Thanks for all the understanding comments re: the ice cream dilemma mentioned yesterday. It truly is a gift to have wonderful, loving family nearby -- very rare in this vagabond lifestyle. It is a given, I think, that grandparents will lavish attention (and perhaps sweet confections) on their grandkiddos. My older sister, however, gave me a nice rule of thumb when it comes to grandparents: The closer they live, and the larger role they play in regular child care, the closer they should follow the rules set out by the parents. In theory. We're still working that out in practice. ;)
