Bernadette's Vision

Mountain Miyagi

So my Dad was set on me shooting his Bonzai Miyagi dude outside in some lava rocks we got for our Koi pond. To appease him I let him help me pose him, position the large rock and help stage it. LOL

I'm trying to convince him he needs to buy his own Camera and start photographing.

December 4th I almost lost my Dad. He was hit with a stomach virus and was throwing up. I didn't make much of it except to watch him and get him water. 9 yrs ago he had throat cancer (just prior to moving in with me). During radiation treatments he lost his saliva glands. He has to drink a ton of water to keep his mouth wet. Apparently the amount of water he had been drinking was washing the sodium and electrolytes out of his body. When he got the virus, it threw his sodium level into critical levels in hours. I found him in the middle of a seizure and called 911. He was airlifted to the hospital 45 mins from home. He stayed in ICU for 10 days. They told me he most likely would have brain damage. Well I'm happy to report, he's fine, no damage even with the 6 hours of seizures and brain swell.

I write about this just to say, I am lucky to still have my Dad with me. If Mr. Miyagi photos makes him happy, so be it! I am encouraging him to find some hobbies of his own so that he has a focus that relaxes him, blipping might be it!.
