Secret pond

There is a small gate lodge next to our house in Leitrim. It used to be one of the toll houses for gaining access to Lough Rynn Estate many years ago. The current tenant is heavily involved with hunting and fishing and the place sounds and look like a zoo.

The owner cleverly planned the layout of the land surrounding the lodge. If you walk through the field opposite the lodge, you come to a circle of trees just before entering the woods. When you step into the circle a small well stocked pond reveals itself. It is a little haven, hidden from the world.

I do not fish but I like the calmness.
